Swap-bot Member Appreciation Event

Feb 1st 2009 05:22:53 pm

Your friendly peeps at Swap-bot headquarters are working on something special — we are planning a member appreciation event in Eugene, Oregon, on Sunday, March 1st, 2009. We thought it would be fun to meet fellow swappers in person. Plus, we wanted to do a Pacific NW event before Swap-bot headquarters makes its move to New York City in March.

All Swap-bot members are invited, but we realize that it is probably only feasible for local NW swappers to attend. We are currently planning on a three-hour, meet-up event during the afternoon that will include ATC trades, craft demos and displays, door prizes, delicious snacks, and lots of time for chatting and hanging out. However, we need to get an idea of how many people might attend before we can finalize any of the plans. Please complete the poll below and let us know if you can attend:

Thank you!

Universal swap limit poll

Nov 17th 2008 08:38:07 pm

In a previous poll I asked if there should be a swap limit on all users. Eighty-two percent of respondents thought that there should be a limit. Travis and I agree that a limit should be implemented on all users in order to prevent huge amounts of flaking when an emergency comes up… or unfortunately, when a swap-lifter signs up for many swaps and then abandons the site. However, we need your help. How many swaps do you think would be a good limit for all users? We may implement a tiered system in the future, but for now it will be a universal swap limit. Thanks for you help and input!

Swap limit poll

Oct 20th 2008 12:15:35 pm

Originally we wanted Swap-bot to be as free as possible with members each being personally responsible for their behavior and swap reputation. However, lately we have been warming up to the idea of a swap limit for all swappers (not just new users). The tricky part is deciding how many active swaps each user should be limited to sign up for. Should the limit be based on a swapper’s experience (the number of swaps they have completed) and rating history? How many swaps do you think is a reasonable limit for established swappers? PLease answer this poll and add your comments. It would be most helpful to know how many swaps you believe is a fair limit.

Thanks for your help!
