Swap-bot HQ is moving to NYC!

Mar 26th 2009 07:09:41 am

Hello swappers! We just wanted to let everyone know that Swap-bot headquarters are (right now, as we speak) moving to New York City. Your friendly admin, Travis & Rachel (plus the site mascot, Crusher), are currently traveling across the country and will soon be settling in Brooklyn. Swap-bot email support may be a little delayed during the next two weeks, but we do plan to keep on working on site throughout the move.

If you want to follow along on our adventure, check out Rachel’s personal website: r. l. j. art.

Sorry to use the blog for this, but I cant even use the “contact admim” link on the left. Is swap-bot website having problems, I have not been able to access the site for 2 days, says “Forbidden” when I try to get on the website? I am trying to get addresses to send out my swaps.
    Thanks

Mary, I’m having the same problem. I can’t get into the website and I get the same “forbidden” error message when I try to contact administration. Now that I know I’m not the only one with this problem I will assume it has something to do with the move and will be fixed soon. I need to get addresses for swaps also.

I also got this problem. I get the ‘forbidden’ message as well. I am hoping this doesn’t impact my swaps too much!

Are people still getting the “forbidden” error? I haven’t had the problem myself and I’m wondering if the problem might be somewhere in between “point A and point B.” I know this can sometimes happen since I used to work for Cisco Systems (the folks that make most of the internet hardware in use worldwide today). You can sometimes run into problems if a computer that your internet connection uses as a path to the website you’re trying to load is having a problem.

Some of you may have had problems in the past or heard on t.v. something along the lines of “Sprint’s backbone servers in the Texas area are down due to equipment failure)…” or something like that. The “backbone” is that relay system that sends you on your way to “point B.” Think of it as the freeway being closed because of an accident–no one can get through until the cops, tow trucks and ambulances clear everything up.

I don’t know if that’s the case with this, but something like that could be happening since some people appear to be able to log on while others can’t. Don’t it just figure something like this would happen when Rachel and Travis are trying to move?! Stupid Murphy’s Law at work again! :::sigh:::

I’ve got no advice on how to fix it except for maybe calling your service provider and see if they know whether or not something is going on. There’s also the Internet Traffic Report Website at http://www.internettrafficreport.com if you can make sense of it (its a bit over my head). Sorry I can’t help more. :-|

I will like to know why I am blocked from joining swaps and forms and so on?
WHAT DID I DO THAT others here are allowed to go on,and I am chastised for defending my self?

I will leave for good if I know why I am subjected and singled out when I am attacked by people and I simply asked for help, that nasty person posted my profile is she still swapping?
PLEASE TELL ME will I become unbloced it says partical yet has become worse?SO I LOOK for answers do not see tham..YOU HAVE not responded to PMs/
so I feel some one must be in charge to be able to do this to me and not reply is not a fair situation!linda
