weekly swap: Bottle Cap Pincushions
Sep 21st 2009 11:44:24 am
I have heard (i.e. read in the forums) Swap-bot members talking about bottle cap pincushions, but I have never made one nor have I featured a bottle cap pincushion swap here on the blog… Today that all changes with this week’s featured swap: the Bottle Cap Pincushion Swap hosted by Spin.
Bottle cap pincushions are just what they sound like - mini handmade pincushions that are constructed using the twist cap from a soda bottle. There are some amazingly adorable examples when you search for them on Flickr, and there is a tutorial for how to make them here. For the swap, you make one little pincushion for your one partner. However, the pincushion should be in the color of your recipient’s choice. The swap is international and open to swappers with a 4.9 overall rating, or higher, and new users who have a full profile. The swap is open for sign up until September 30th, but make sure to read the full swap description before joining! Have fun!
